Each and every year, we try to come up with a creative idea for this family's session. Often it's a collaborative effort but this year I had a surprise in mind.

These goofy boys...

... would paint secret portraits of their parents!

I think they did a splendid job, no?

I made Mom & Dad wait until the pictures were ready before they got to see the portraits of themselves, and although my plan to get them framed before delivery fell through, Mom and Dad were thrilled!

I better start concocting ideas for next time...
