Cheep Cheep Pictures!!! April 15, 2017 at Dawson Park

A friend of mine scored a huge batch of easter eggs and decided that was a perfect excuse to throw a party!  Please join us on Saturday, April 15th between 2 and 6pm at Dawson Park for a BBQ, Easter egg hunt, and an opportunity to get photos with some freshly-hatched baby chicks!!!  Come for a few minutes, come for the whole day!  There is a shelter and a washroom there so provided there isn't a full-on blizzard, this event will be a go rain or shine.  Please RSVP to the Facebook Event Here or send me an email to sign up!

There will be a fire going in the shelter so you can bring your own protein for grilling or you can keep it simple and just pack sandwiches.  Hot chocolate will be provided - please consider bringing a mug so we have less waste!

Photos with chicks (or without if you prefer) will take place between 2:00 and 3:30 pm only on a first come, first-served basis.  There will be a $25 charge per sitting and $10 from each sitting will be donated to the Edmonton Humane Society.  Proofs will be available online within a couple of days and the high-resolution file of your favourite image will be emailed to you; additional images from your sitting (if any) may be purchased at that time at a cost of $25/file.  Come dressed in your Easter best!

Our first mission is to ensure the safety of the chicks, so sittings will be limited to about 5 minutes to prevent these delicate babies getting too cold or stressed.  These hand-raised free-range chicks come from a friend's farm and will be returned to their cozy warm coop at the end of the day.  If you are interested in adopting a backyard hen, information will be available on site.

There is no cost for the Easter Egg hunt, however, it is limited to children 11 and under.  The hunt will take place at 3:30 sharp.  Please note that some of the chocolate in the eggs may have come in contact with nuts, so those with nut allergies next to exercise caution.

There will be various games, crafts, community resources, and performers on site throughout the event, including an opportunity to make giant bubbles!
