Edmonton Relay for Life 2014

This year was a tough year going into the Relay, knowing it would likely be my last as I transition to providing bereavement services directly to families coping with terminal cancer of a loved one.  The Relay for Life has been such a huge part of my life for so long I struggle to find the words I need to express what it has meant to me - friendship, community, giving back, reaching out, connecting, laughing, crying, and of course celebrating, remembering, and fighting back.  I've walked the track year after year and so many of you have shared your wonderful, awful, awesome, heartbreaking, uplifting, tragic, inspirational stories with me, simply because I asked.  I am so very grateful for the people I have met and the experiences I have been blessed to have through Relay - thank you to all of you for touching my life so deeply with your warm hearts and open arms.

It will be a few more days before the official 2014 Relay for Life album is posted at Zoomphoto here, but in the meantime here are a few teasers.

If you or someone you know would like a free photography session to celebrate a loved one's life before they pass, please contact me directly through the contact form at the top or bottom of this page or send an email to pictureLOVE (dot) ca (at) gmail (dot) com.

Hope,

Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of Relay. My family has been doing Relay for 10+ years now. Each year, we appreciate seeing your face and having your pictures to capture such precious and raw moments that happen at the event. This year was a particularly tough one for my family, but having you there helped us through. We had a blast during our intense family jump rope session with you and it brought genuine smiles and laughter that we felt deep in our hearts. We needed that lift in spirit and you were the one to give it to us. You are simply wonderful.

Much love,
Laura from team Keep On Truckin'
