it's not every day...

Once in a blue moon, I am contacted by virtual strangers, in both literal and figurative terms.  And of course it is always fortuitous when one of these random encounters becomes not only fun but transformative for both the subject and the photographer.  The following photos chronicle one of those chance encounters where awkward escalated to awesome in record time.

Using the term "balls to the wall" seems vulgar when describing this beautiful woman, but there really isn't any other more accurate way of describing the dedication and intensity she brought to the table.

After sending me a laundry list of inspirational photos, the incomparable Miss A dug in and held on like nobody's business.

She performed like a professional model with 10+ years of experience...

Despite our valiant efforts, not all of the images Miss A wished to create could be done outdoors, and so a second date was secured during which we would attempt to capture the glamour she desired.

A month after our initial encounter, Miss A arrived at the studio I had rented and we began in earnest reinterpreting some of the stunning inspirational photos she wished to experience.  Of course things are always easier the second time around and it was more like playtime than working time...

Seeking a range of photos from dramatic to demure, I think Miss A nailed it.

Miss A, you are beautiful, inside and out, and I enjoyed our time together as much as I would enjoy coffee with an old friend.  Congratulations on your pending convocation and nothing but wishes for all the best in your future endeavours.

such a slacker, I know!

It has been a busy busy autumn, I assure you, and my sincerest apologies for the lack of blogging - so much to do, so little time.  I'm going to do some catching up, starting with this adorable couple:

Really, this kind of cute is just wrong.  No?

The long-awaited arrival of #2 was (obviously) much-anticipated.

I'm always secretly (but not so secretly) envious of Mommas who look sexy and happy during pregnancy, mostly because I was so grumpy and cranky.  This Momma has it down pat.

Despite waiting until the last. possible. second. for maternity pictures, the sweet, squishy-cheeked Miss T waited just long enough to arrive, in all her cute glory.

I am always floored by the perfection of miniatures.  I have a particular fetish for toenails and ears.  Seriously, how is it possible for baby toenails and baby ears to be so freaking small and perfect?  It boggles the mind.  I know you think I am crazy, but check it ou the next time the opportunity presents itself.  You will be amazed, I assure you.

Smitten much?

A huge congrats to this loving little family...

And an extra-huge congrats to this uber-proud little lady, who proudly took her place as the official Big Sister without freaking out too much over how much poop one small human being could produce.

Congratulations to all of you, and thank you to the family for letting me sniff, cuddle, and maul the baby without calling the police to have me apprehended.   I am SO happy for you guys and look forward to seeing how the newest addition changes the dynamics of your adorable little family.

beautiful love

Not everyone can say they have known someone from birth, but I was literally in the room when the beautiful young lady in these pics was born.

Miss C has always held a special place in my heart, because her Mom is like a sister from another mister to me.

And so it goes without say that if she was dating a jerk I'd have something to say.  But I only have good things to say about the handsome young man in these photos.

He is sweet, charming, kind, playful, and patient.

He treats Miss C like a lady, an equal, and a friend.

He makes her smile and laugh, while putting up with all her goofiness.

Miss C, you ave grown into a fine young lady and you've managed to find yourself a fine young man.

You guys make me smile.  That is all.

the whole family came out

I've know this family since there were only 3 of them...

Fast forward, and they are a beautiful family of 5.

Molson doesn't always get to come along for our photo sessions, so of course there were lots of extra hugs to give the family furbaby.

Some goofing around...

Some exploring...

More goofing around...

And then my favouritest glasses.

THEN Gramma came and we got some pictures of the entire family!!!

After that, I snuck off with the the half of the family

And to hang out with a pair of delicious little blondies!

Being a big sister is the high point of this little dolly's life.

  Clearly the feeling is mutual.

Too too adorable, no?

These two are so sweet they gave me a toothache!

And of course, if you see your cousins wearing funky eyeglasses...

Thanks to the entire clan for making my morning full of smiles, laughter, and sweetness.
