an invitation to be anonymous

Lots of people are getting all cranky about people 'not owning up' to what they think. I, however, feel I will get a much better set of results by asking everyone to reply ANONYMOUSLY. It takes the pressure off.

So, NO NAMES. Just respond.

Johari Window
Nohari Window

I personally had a really hard time picking my five or six.

There were lots of words missing from the list that I would have used long before the selection they gave me.

I also find it interesting what others see. Whatever we view as our 'dark side' isn't what other view as our 'dark side' and where offense gets taken is when we disagree with how someone percieves us.

Our perception of ourselves isn't any more or less accurate than that of others - just as we view ourselves through the filter of our own experiences, so do others. Therefore we may have different understandings of the context and subsequent meaning of the words in the windows. For example, someone who views me as 'stupid' may have misread a post and gotten the wrong impression. For another example, someone who views me as 'inflexible' may have an opposing point of view on only one particular subject, making me appear 'generally' inflexible, even though it's only one issue.

I think the people who will have a hard time receiving this type of feedback will be the type who invest too much in it personally, rather than view it as people saying the mean things they always wanted to say but never had the guts lol... Perspective is everything.

I'm not at a place where I could do the Nohari one for myself right now, perhaps in the future. Right now I am just far to emotional for that. I do agree it is all about perception.

Tanya - I'm personally finding the results of both the Johari and Nohari windows hilarious... But I totally understand how you feel. Yesterday I wasn't ready to post the windows; today I found the whole idea amusing.

I love that so far people see me as unhappy though - THAT makes me laugh... and makes me think I need to change up my blogging a bit since it seems y'all are confusing happiness with somethin' else...

I did the Johari window and crazy but I could have picked TONNES of those words for you! It was difficult to narrow it down to 6.

I am not doing the nohari window...nope.

I think both are very difficult to even measure anything on...really so I will do the first one just out of pure fun! :)

I decided to participate in the Nohari. After some thought I realize my harshest critic is probably myself, so what's to fear. I will answer your questions about Johari/Nohari in a few days when I have more responses on the Nohari.

I can totally appreciate and respect that you skipped the Nohari window, Carol.

I closed my windows because I thought I was being stalked by that disgusting toad who bothered us months ago. Turns out it was someone else. Had I known I would have left the windows open. Receiving anonymous input didn't work in my case.
