Task 2 sample

I promise, all this wax-on, wax-off stuff has a purpose.  I will sum up the point of the exercises in a separate post.  In the meantime, here is the side of a crib I use for climbing plants in my garden.  Note that I chose 3 very different spots to focus.  Which one do you like best?  Which one doesn't work for you?  Do the different focal points create a different kind of impact or mood?

I like the first one the best. The other 2 don't really work for me but if I had to choose one that really does not work I would say the third one. No comment about the mood...

I like the top one the best. It gave me the image of height, something tall, with misty clouds near the bottom. It seems to illustrate climbing. I find the bottom one bothers me- having to take a moment to search out what the picture is of. It makes me more aware that the picture is out of focus.

The bottom one kind of doesn't let me go. My eyes get stuck at the bottom of that ladder, andbecause everything else is so blurry it's like I have no choice BUT to look at some weird pit at the bottom lol. It certainly is an 'irritating' picture. Very frustrating to look at, hey? lol

Ok I am feeling pretty technologically retarded looking back over my photo's. I just can't seem to figure out my camera.

Don't beat yourself up too hard, Tanya. It's not going to happen overnight - practice is the best remedy.

I peeked at the fence pictures; go look at them again. I found several with very different focal points. Maybe shoot one more from the same spot, but focus on the fence right close to your head. I think you did just fine!
