the new lens

50mm f1.4. It's love, I tell ya. I had one for the old K1000. Now I have one for my new camera. Which will arrive next week. Then I'm training Bill on this camera. He'll be in love, too.

The only down side of the new lens is it's tough to be stealthy about snapping random shots. I didn't capture any carnies. Next time though. Promise.

I love the expressions on the girls' faces while riding in the green thing.

I noticed these pics are blurry backgrounds. And the colours are exciting. Is that what the new lens does? Are you using the digital camera?

I'm a neophyte at taking pictures. Could you write some posts on basic digital photography in layman's language?

Or how about a question/answer post? I know ... a link on the side to a brand new question/answer blog. I have questions and I know my sister does. It would be oh so appreciated. If you don't want to that's okay too.

The new lens has a very shallow depth of field, which is causing the 'blurriness' you're referring to. The brightness and clarity of the pictures is due to being able to take a high-speed photo with available minimal lighting.

Oh, how I love my 50mm! Such a great little lens, that one. Your pictures are fantastic as usual. :)

Sad about the lack of carnies though.

Hi Mommy!!! I was missing my 50mm. A LOT. I'm so in love with my new lens that I am debating swapping the new camera for a 31mm f1.8 wide angle. Decisions decisions...
