when one of your BFFs gets married...
Let's start with the good stuff... These two, who had a very last-minute engagement session, are pretty special to me. The bride has, in fact, been a confidante, colleague, and creative co-conspirator for over a decade, and I could not have been happier than when she asked if I would take some photos at her wedding. My favourite part is when I get to sneak off with the couple and take photos of just the two of them, and I kinda feel like that's where I want to start today, because seeing how completely happy and in love these two are makes me full of copious amounts of happy!!!
But the day obviously didn't start with the formals. Sometimes, to stop the day from being interrupted, couples decide to have a first-look moment and get their formals done before the ceremony, so that they could jump straight from the ceremony to the good part - the party! And so, the day began with a lot of primping...
After all the hairs had been curled, the ties had been tied, the shoes had been shined, the laces had been laced, it was time for the bride and groom to meet.
We jumped right in to the bridal party and immediate family photos.
All of the incredible flowers used for the wedding - boutonnieres, bouquets, centrepieces - were harvested from the groom's Mom's garden and were handmade with loving tender care.
And with the pressure off well in advance, everyone took a breather indoors while the guests arrived and found their seats.
Then the ceremony:
Immediately following the ceremony, we snuck in some quick extended family pictures.
And then it was time to head into the tent and get ready for the food truck!
(How fun it this?!)
Then it was time for special song from the bride's family to the couple, followed by speeches, cutting of the cake, much dancing, and, of course, chucking bouquet into a crowd of anxious ladies.
The last official part of the program for the day was a special shout-out to the Bride's parents, who were celebrating their own anniversary!
It was an amazing day filled with love and laughter, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it.
I love you all to bits and pieces!!!
