tree climbing gone bad

Wil is fine, quite excited about getting his cast signed - such a trooper. I am still recovering. I have hives, Christine. And I totally earned my purple heart today.

My thanks to the staff at the Stollery who had him in, Xrayed' and set in under 2 hours.

My condolences to the family and friends of the STARS patient en route, whose bed was cancelled halfway through Wil's casting due to CPR failing.

*HE* wanted me to blog these.

OMG!!!! Ok, your son's horribly broken arm trumps my son's 12 stitches on the nose from a dog bite. I hope he's OK. I have hives yet again after looking through your album.... Purple heart indeed!

OMG, Hope. I'm so glad he's okay. Trooper is right....I looked at the xray pic once, and I can't dare to look back.

Wow he was a trooper and then some. Poor guy. I hope he heals quickly. The things I have to look forward to as a Mom scare me sometimes. Happy Mother's Day weekend Hope, you definitely earned your stripes.

Oh my goodness that made me tearful. I can feel your anxiety all the way over here. I am so glad he is OK and a trooper! You can let him know that he even gave your friends a few extra grey hairs today. ((((H and W))))))

Wil doesn't quite understand why *I* am upset. He gets it, but won't ever get it until he has kids of his own to sit and cry over. It reminded me of my Dad, trying his hardest to keep it together when he picked me up after getting my gallbladder yanked. His eyes were glassy the whole time and I'm surprised he was able to drive. While I reminded Wil to just breathe, I was reminding myself, too. Just keep breathing.

I'm on a bit of a slower computer so as I was waiting for your blog page to load I saw the x-ray and the title and my stomach twisted. OMG, what happened? As Wil will probably display his new armour with pride telling his "battle story", you will remember that day in a whole other way.
I hope he has a speedy recovery and I pass on my wishes for a good Mama's Day too.

That looks like a bad break! Ouch! Reminds me of when Abby broke her arm, although it wasn't quite as bad. Getting your cast signed is very cool, but don't tell Wil about how gross it is to have his arm in it for several weeks. I'll mail you your purple heart. Happy Mother's Day, Hope

Oh my! That makes my eyes well up just to look at. I can't imagine how much that hurt and what you went through as a mom seeing him like that. Poor guy! I know I would be bawling if that was my baby. What a little trooper!
